Description
The Falcon Cup Championship consists of 16 Intramural events throughout the fall and spring semester. Teams will be awarded points based on participation, sportsmanship, and performance. The Falcon Cup team with the highest point total at the end of the competition will be the champion.
This will be the inaugural year of what we hope will become an annual tradition at Fitchburg State College.
Participation/Eligibility
· We ask teams and organizations to use the same team name for each Falcon Cup event the team participates as they earn points toward the Falcon Cup. This will help to minimize confusion. Thank you in advance!
· All players must present a VALID student ID each game to be eligible to play
· FALCON CUP ROSTERS CANNOT EXCEED 25. Once a player participates for a Falcon Cup team, that roster spot is locked.
· A player can only participate for ONE Falcon Cup team. Once a player participates for one team, they are not able to participate for another team in The Falcon Cup.
· Teams that use an ineligible player or exceed their roster limit will forfeit all games for that sport and will be ineligible to receive performance points for that sport for the team involved. The ineligible player will not be permitted to play until he/she meets with the Staff Assistant.
o Players will be subject to suspension for the remainder of that sport and one additional team sport
· In the event a team dissolves, all players that have participated with the team are ineligible to join another Falcon Cup team. They may continue to play intramurals with non-Falcon Cup teams.
·
If a team is unable to field a
roster for a game, simply call Extension 4648 to offer a concession. If this is
done by 11am (11am Friday for a Sunday game) the day of the event, they will
not be given a forfeit.
· For the most part, all Falcon Cup events will be gender non-specific. The exception to this will be the Swim and Track meets, where individual events will be gender specific; all relays will be gender non-specific.
Registration
· All teams signing up for The Falcon Cup should do so at www.fsc.dosportseasy.com
· Teams are to pay The Falcon Cup registration fee of $20 at the Recreation Center. This fee will allow your team to be eligible for all Falcon Cup prizes, including the Grand Prize of Red Sox tickets.
· Teams not involved in The Falcon cup may still participate in Falcon Cup events by signing up for a specific sport at www.fsc.dosportseasy.com, but will not be eligible for Falcon Cup prizes
· Players may be added to a Falcon Cup roster the day of the game as long as it does not put a team over its roster limit of 25
· Falcon Cup teams may register multiple teams for an individual event. Each team will be rewarded points based on their individual performances. When registering additional teams, please indicate which Falcon Cup team you represent to minimize confusion.
Point Structure
· Falcon Cup points will be awarded for all Falcon Cup Events
· Falcon Cup points will be awarded in 3 categories: participation, sportsmanship, and performance
· Points will be given based on Falcon Cup Tournaments only. FLAG FOOTBALL, 5-on-5 BASKETBALL, FLOOR HOCKEY AND SOFTBALL ARE NOT PART OF THE FALCON CUP.
· Performance points are only awarded based upon competition against other Falcon Cup team entries. Should a team that is not involved in the Falcon Cup win an event, they will be the Intramural Champion in that sport and win IM Champion T-Shirts. Points towards standings will be figured as if the non Falcon Cup entries did not exist.
Depending upon the individual event and the number of non-Falcon Cup entries, either
